WiFi To Become Obsolete?
written by Andre on March 9, 2008 // No Comments
According to many experts mobile broadband will wipe out WiFi much sooner than later. Ericsson's chief marketing officer, Johan Bergendahl, stated in a recent interview that Wi-Fi hot spots like those at Starbucks and McDonalds will become outdated sooner than many people think, although some observers contend that Bergendahl is misreading Wi-Fi's role.
The clear message: ENJOY WIFI WHILE YOU CAN. Now, I'm no tech expert, but does it not seem that these days as soon as a new tch device or service is deemed "uber-innovative" or cutting edge, it's replaced or "outdated" before any of us even had a chance to master all of the features?
I'm all for technological advancements, but this type of thing happening, you know, a technology that was released just a short time ago becoming outdated, makes me feel like we're advancing too much, too fast on the technological front.

blog FLICKR COMMUNITY NEWBIES- [Feb 29, 2008]

written by Barbara

There it is, we've admitted it. We're entirely new to the flickr community. You'll notice some photos we've posted to the right. There's a whole lot more to come, however. We figured we had to start somewhere.

There's probably going to be a few wacky shots from aruond the office thrown in. You know, random items like our favorite mugs and such, but for the most part, we are big fans of nature, abstract, and random photography. So expect to see this stuff the most.

Namaste, everyone. [yeah, we're Lost fans]

blog SNUBBING GONE "WILD"- [Feb 28, 2008]

written by Andre

This is a topic that I'm sure is debated intensely every year on the web, at the water cooler, etc. This year among many noticeable snubs (I'm a movie buff, to say the least) was Emile Hirsch. If you didn't get to see his performance as "Alexander Supertramp" in the Sean Penn directed, 'Into the Wild', it's on DVD now. It's one of those movies you just shouldn't miss.

Emile Hirsch's performance is a rare testament to a performer's innate ability to do what he does best. From the opening moments you get a sense of what his character is all about, and you instantly begin to sympathize with him. In fact, most of the film's most memorable moments take place when no one other than Emile is oncsreen. The wide-eyed optimist and wreckless adventurer this young man was (the film is based on a true story) is displayed with seemingly effortless ability in every frame.

I was thrilled when I heard that Hal Holbrook had been nominated for 'Best Supporting Actor'. His character is introduced and takes his bow in all but fiftteen minutes of screen time, but you get it. You understand the character. I'm also upset that, while he did receive Golden Globe and Grammy nods, Eddie Vedder was left out of the Oscar nominations, as well. His soundtrack was so atmospheric and emotive, you felt the journey of the main character could have been your own.

It's an often argued topic: whose interpretation of such works should be respected most? The audience, who often comes away with new questions and discoveries about themselves and life in general, or a performer's peers? I don't know what the 'academy' was missing, but I know this film will resonate with me for some time thanks to the work of Emile, Eddie, and the entire cast and crew of "Into the Wild".

blog OUR FIRST CONTEST - [Feb 27, 2008]

written by Andre

How could we possibly have gone on so long without holding a contest? I haven't the slightest idea, but this April we will be designing someone's website or logo for free. We're in the middle of working out the details and we'll post all new info ASAP.

Who will the contest be open to? Anyone. What will you need to do to win? Like an evil genious we're wiping our hands together coming up with a plan for this. Actually, there will probably just be a survey to fill out.

We'll keep you posted.

blog A SIMPLE BEGINNING - [Feb 26, 2008]

written by Andre

Believe it or not this will be the first time that either of us has had a blog online. This would probably come as a surprise to much everyone I know. I'm always writing. Short stories, magazine articles, screen and teleplays. I even started working on my first novel in my spare time.

I guess there's a first time for eveything. I promise that we'll try as hard as we can to keep this blog a "no-snooze" zone. We design and develop but not only topics pertaining to this will show up here. We will talk about eveything there is to talk about.

See you next post!
